💧 Pond & Water Features

• Check fish health regularly - net stops most birds but watch for missing fish
• Water lilies: Feed 2-3 tablets every 2 months during growing season Bi-monthly (Summer)
• Remove dead lily pads when they brown
• Optional: Split lily pots at start of growing season for more plants
• Consider water plants in corner (wait until comfortable with garden)
• Net maintenance: Check for tears, push back if adding plants

🎋 Bamboo Screen

• Trim back every 2-3 weeks when overgrown Every 2-3 weeks
• How: Tie rope to bamboo, attach to brick on basketball court to pull away from fence
• Use electric trimmer from other side of net
• ⚠️ CAUTION: Easy to slice power cords and net - work carefully
• Fertilize twice yearly with general fertilizer March & Sept

🌴 Palms & Agapanthus

• Pull dead leaves - grab at base or cut low with secateurs As needed
• Agapanthus: Just pull dead fronds from the base
• Check sprinklers regularly for blockages
• Generally self-maintaining if watered properly

🌱 Garden Beds

• Pull weeds - okay if some mulch comes out with them Weekly check
• Fresh mulch layer once every 1-2 years Annually
• Remove dead bits from all plants regularly
• Watch for thrip damage: Brown/damaged leaves (treatment in progress)

🏺 Potted Plants

• Water every few days Every few days
• Repot every 3 years when root-bound Every 3 years
• Special pots have pot-within-pot to control size (frangipanis)
• Fertilize with general fertilizer twice yearly March & Sept

🐕 Dog Run Area

• Izzy's favorite spot - she's destroyed the groundcover
• Net up to encourage her to run elsewhere
• Has been fertilized - monitor for recovery
• May need replanting if doesn't recover

🌙 Moonflower

• Water deeply about once a week Weekly
• New flowers coming through - looking healthy
• Located near entry from house

🌹 Rose Bushes

• Deadheading: Remove spent flowers to encourage new blooms Weekly
• Cut flower off when finished - new roses won't come if you don't
• Aphid watch: Look for white spots on buds/leaves Weekly
• Spray with aphid treatment if found (in shed)
• Fertilize with rose-specific food + general Troforte March & Sept
• Keep off pathways - trim back as needed

🌳 Main Tree & Alison's Tree

• Dead branch on main tree needs removing - use one-handed folding saw
• Pick up fallen leaves regularly As needed
• Fertilize with general fertilizer twice yearly March & Sept
• Keep branches clear of pathways for Alison

🪴 Problem Plant (Corner Pot)

• Status: Root-bound, sparse, stressed
• Your call: Try to repot (may be impossible to extract)
• If doesn't work: Take the strongest shoots, replant in fresh soil
• Tree is close to breaking anyway - low risk to try
• Remove decorations before working on it

🌿 General Front Garden

• Trim hedges/bushes to keep off pathways
• Check sprinklers monthly - test using controller Monthly
• Keep areas tidy - no dead material buildup
• Consider adding more agapanthus plants online (cheap, bulk deals)
• Kangaroo paw in pot needs planting somewhere
